Punjab’s Housing Minister Bilal Yasin has expressed a commitment to enforcing transparency and compliance with legal requirements in the housing sector, which is a crucial step in the fight against corruption and illegal practices in the industry.
In a departmental performance and development projects review meeting held in Lahore today, Yasin emphasized that strict action will be taken against unauthorized housing societies. The minister revealed that plans have been made to deploy a state-of-the-art management system for monitoring all housing schemes, which is expected to improve governance and accountability.
Significant improvements are expected in preventing fraud in the housing sector with the inclusion of the NADRA system, digital mapping, and e-registry. These technological advancements are aimed at providing secure and transparent property transactions. A notable change includes replacing the traditional file system with modern green property certificates, which will further streamline the process.
Yasin advised potential investors to seek comprehensive guidance through the Punjab Land Records Authority (PLRA) system before investing in any housing project. This initiative aims to empower citizens with the necessary information so they can make informed decisions, thereby reducing the risk of falling prey to fraudulent schemes.
