40TH CAS OPEN GOLF CHAMPIONSHIP KICK STARTS

KARACHI: Featuring around 400 golfers from all over the country, Chief of the Air Staff Open Golf Championship kick-starts at Airmen Golf Club and Recreational Park, PAF Korangi Creek today.

 

Air Vice Marshal Abbas Ghuman, Air Officer Commanding Southern Air Command, President Airmen Golf Club and Recreational Park inaugurated the Championship, by teeing off.

 

In the first round of the tournament, Akbar Khan gained lead, as he scored 70 (2 under par). Trailing him was Waheed Baloch who finished the round at 70 (2 under par). Hamza Amin secured 3rd place on the card board whereas the defending champion, Ahmed Baig is at 14th position with the score 72 (1 over par).

 

The 40th edition of the CAS Open Golf Championship is one of the biggest golf tournaments of the country, with over 100 professional golfers in action. Matches in the category of Professionals, Senior/ Junior Professionals, Amateurs, Airmen Golf Club Members, Ladies, Veterans and Invitees will be played during the championship. Rs 8.0 million prize money championship will be played over 18 holes for four days at one of the most difficult golf courses of the country. Brand new Honda BR-VS (1500cc) has also been put on offer for the player who scores Hole-in one.
