A 42-year-old pedestrian was killed on the spot on Tuesday after being hit by a speeding tractor-trolley near Chak 16, prompting local residents to demand stricter enforcement of road safety laws.
Rescue officials identified the deceased as Fayaz Ahmed, son of Muhammad Latif. The deceased was a resident of Muhammad Nagar in the Haveli Lakha area.
According to emergency services, the impact was severe and Fayaz Ahmed sustained fatal injuries on the spot.
After completing the necessary procedures, rescue personnel moved the body to a local hospital.
The incident has cast a pall of gloom over the area, and in response to the tragedy, citizens have urged authorities to ensure strict enforcement of traffic laws to prevent such incidents in the future.
