5 Indian soldiers, four attackers killed in attack on army camp

Srinagar, February 11, 2018 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the death toll in the ongoing attack on an army camp in Jammu rose to ten including five Indian soldiers and four attackers. Around a dozen soldiers were injured in the attack. A group of assailants attacked the army camp in Jammu, killing five soldiers and wound many on Saturday.

Defence officials on Sunday claimed that with the recovery of a body of another attack, the number of attackers rose to four. Some of the soldiers killed in the attack have been identified as Subedar Madan Lal Choudhary and Subedar Mohammad Ashraf Nir.

The officials said the operation was still on even as no more gun shots were fired at the shootout site after the death of the fourth attacker. Para commandos from the Army’s Udhampur-headquartered Northern Command were airlifted to tackle the attackers. The Air Force provided aerial surveillance. Indian Army chief Bipin Rawat arrived in Jammu on Sunday to review the operation that lasted for nearly 30 hours.
