50% of cops posted to provide protection to 279 relief camps of Larkana

Larkana: SSP Larkana Asif Raza Baloch speaking to the media at the Larkana Press Club here on Friday said that public complaints first come to the media and later reach us and then we try to solve any problem that is raised in the media.

Baloch said that disaster or flood brings hunger and unrest because half of the population of our country lives below the poverty line and then the affected people commit crimes because they have come from other areas.

He said that the people of other provinces and districts are also involved in the current lawlessness and some criminals are also taking advantage of it, so they have sealed the 8 entry points of the city by placing tents and appointing officials to prevent any outside criminals from entering the city.

SSP Larkana said that some of the victims have taken the path of crime by coming here and the media along with police should play a role to bring them on the right path.

He said that we have always welcomed the criticism of the media. There may be some black sheep in the police and we will take action on their identification, Baloch said. He said that the doors of my office are always open for the public and the media and I will try to ensure there should not be any gap between the media.

Baloch said that there are currently 279 relief camps in the city where two cops are posted on duty at each camp and in this way about 2,000 of our 4,200 personnel are assigned to the relief camps, which is 50% of the total personnel posted in Larkana district and this has been done to provide protection to the rain or flood victims.

He said that in addition to the Benazir Income Support Program, security has also been provided to banks and other financial institutions so that no crime occurs.
