Seven alleged robbers, five of them injured, were taken into custody on Thursday following two separate armed encounters with law enforcement agencies in the city’s District South.
The first incident occurred today near Trifit Gym on Abdul Sattar Road, where an exchange of fire took place between personnel from the Darakhshan police station and two suspected culprits. Following the shootout, authorities arrested both individuals in an injured state.
The suspects were identified as Muhammad Ibrahim son of Abdul Rasheed and Muhammad Abid son of Dil Sher. From the scene, authorities recovered two pistols with ammunition, two mobile phones, two lakh rupees in cash, and a motorcycle.
In a separate operation, police confronted the notorious “White Corolla Gang” near Shaukat Khanum Hospital in Phase 7 Extension. The encounter resulted in the arrest of five alleged members of the group.
Three of the arrested individuals-Ali Asghar son of Muhammad Shafiq, Wajid son of Habib, and Muhammad Shabbir son of Sikandar Ali-were injured during the shootout. The other two taken into custody were identified as Majeed Sultan son of Waheed Bakhsh and Ibrahim son of Hanif.
Officials from the Defence police station seized three pistols with rounds, four mobile phones, a laptop, and the alleged white Corolla car used by the gang.
In both incidents, the injured suspects were moved to a nearby hospital for medical treatment. Police have initiated further investigations into both cases.
