9 Profiteers Arrested, 19 Shops Sealed in Crackdown Against Overpricing in Pishin

Authorities in District Pishin have taken decisive action against illegal trade practices during Ramadan, arresting nine individuals and sealing 19 commercial establishments for hoarding and price manipulation.

During this extensive crackdown conducted on Monday, 390 shops were inspected, and fines totaling Rs 88,000 were also imposed on violators.

These enforcement measures were carried out on the directives of Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti. The aim is to ensure the availability of essential commodities to the public at fair, fixed rates during the holy month.

Deputy Commissioner Pishin, Mansoor Ahmed Qazi, affirmed that such operations will continue to maintain stability in the prices of food items.

He further clarified that the district administration is committed to preventing illegal profiteering and will not tolerate any unlawful activities.
