KARACHI: A simple but an impressive farewell party was held at the Central Police Office Karachi on Wednesday in honor of outgoing Director General Rangers Sindh Major General Iftikhar Hassan Chaudhry.
Inspector General of Police (IGP) Sindh, Ghulam Nabi Memon accorded a warm welcome to him upon arrival at the Central Police Office. Mr Memon applauded the DG Rangers Sindh and his team for taking effective steps for rescuing affectees in flood-hit areas and extending cooperation to the provincial police in controlling crimes and bringing peace.
Speaking on this occasion, Mr Iftikhar said that as a DG Rangers Sindh, he always tried to strengthen and promote initiatives like peacekeeping with the cooperation of Sindh police, other law enforcement agencies and stakeholders, adding the purpose of those initiatives was to create a peaceful society in the true sense and to highlight the awareness of security among the citizens.
The DG Rangers Sindh said that in all his priorities, all the stakeholders, including the Sindh police and other law enforcement agencies, were side by side with him and for this cooperation, he was highly grateful to them. Mr Iftikhar said that he had found Sindh police as a unified and disciplined force as it had always been diligent and alert as the foremost force in controlling the law and order situation and protecting citizens.
At the end of the farewell party, IG Sindh, on behalf of Sindh police, presented a commemorative shield to the outgoing DG Rangers Sindh. The ceremony was also attended among others by Additional IG CTD, Additional IG Finance and Welfare, and Additional IG Karachi.
