FWO Partners with Ningbo Green Light to Launch Solar-Powered EV Charging Stations in Pakistan

Islamabad, Frontier Works Organization (FWO) has partnered with Ningbo Green Light Energy Pvt Ltd to install the first solar-powered electric vehicle (EV) charging stations on the M-2 Motorway, enhancing the infrastructure for EV owners traveling between Lahore and Islamabad. The initiative aligns with the government’s vision to promote electric vehicles throughout the country.

According to Frontier Works Organization, the memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed on December 30, 2021, and the new facilities will be located at the Chakri and Sial Main Service Areas on the M-2, covering both north and south directions. This development is part of a broader effort to expand EV charging infrastructure across major highways in Pakistan, including the Swat Expressway and the Lahore-Sialkot Motorway.

The installation of these solar-powered charging stations not only supports the sustainable transport initiative but also ensures that the movement between major cities is smoother and more environmentally friendly for EV owners. FWO’s future plans include extending these services to other areas, significantly boosting the accessibility and convenience for electric vehicle users across the region.
