Islamabad: In a devastating act of terrorism, ten personnel of the Frontier Constabulary (FC) were killed and three others injured when militants attacked the Zam FC checkpoint in Drazinda, Dera Ismail Khan. The attack, carried out by the terrorist group Fitna Al Khawarij, occurred under the cover of darkness, leading to significant casualties among the FC forces.
According to Press Information Department, the assault was met with strong resistance from the FC personnel at the checkpoint. Despite their valiant efforts, ten soldiers were killed in the confrontation. The martyred personnel included Naib Subedar Muhammad Jan, Naik Arif, Lance Naik Saeed ur Rehman, Sepoy Akhunzada, Sepoy Hazratullah, Sepoy Mushtaq, Sepoy Abdul Samad, Sepoy Imran Khan, Sepoy Basirullah, and Sepoy Mehtab. Six of the deceased belonged to South Waziristan, while the remaining four were from Karak District.
The injured, identified as Naik Hamza, Sepoy Hassan, and Sepoy Sabir Ayub, were swiftly transported to CMH Hospital in Dera Ismail Khan for medical treatment.
The spokesperson from the Ministry of Interior honored the fallen soldiers, asserting that their sacrifices are a stark reminder of the ongoing threat of terrorism and underscore the FC’s commitment to the peace and security of the region.
