Pakistanis Allowed Entry into Rwanda Amid Congo Conflict

Goma: Around 150 Pakistani nationals found themselves stranded in Goma, Democratic Republic of Congo, due to an escalation in local conflict, with approximately 75 relocating to Rwanda following diplomatic efforts.

According to a statement by Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Pakistani High Commissioner in Kigali, Ambassador Naeemullah Khan, engaged actively with Rwandan authorities to facilitate the entry of these individuals into Rwanda. The High Commission has made arrangements for their accommodation and food.

The High Commission is continuing its efforts to reach out to other Pakistanis who may be in difficulty and has urged the community to assist in identifying those in need. The staff remains in contact with individuals seeking help and is extending its reach to Pakistanis in Bukavu, a nearby border city.

Those requiring assistance are encouraged to contact the High Commission directly.
