Exports Boost to Propel Economic Growth: PM Shehbaz

Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has emphasized the need to provide a level playing field for local industries to enhance industrial growth and boost exports.

He chaired a review meeting on the Export Facilitation Scheme in Islamabad on Thursday, underscoring the government”s commitment to increasing exports as a top priority.

During the meeting, recommendations were presented to improve the effectiveness of the Scheme and ensure that the export sector fully benefits. The Prime Minister highlighted that the Scheme aims to reduce production costs and enable competitive pricing of the country”s products in global markets.

Sharif instructed the relevant authorities to engage further with experts to refine the Scheme, particularly in facilitating the import of essential raw materials and machinery needed by export industries. Additionally, he urged consultations with industries and business organizations, incorporating their suggestions into the budget.

The meeting also included a briefing on how the Export Facilitation Scheme was designed to enhance the competitiveness of local products in international markets. The Prime Minister reiterated the government”s focus on increasing exports as a crucial economic goal.
