Sharjeel Memon Condemns India’s Ban on Pakistani Media Platforms

Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon has strongly condemned India’s sweeping ban on Pakistani TV channels, anchors, YouTube platforms, and social media pages, calling the move a “shameful act” and a blatant violation of democratic norms and freedom of expression.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, Mr Memon criticised the Indian government’s decision to block access to prominent Pakistani news outlets. He described the ban as yet another manifestation of the Modi government’s authoritarian tendencies.

“Whenever elections approach in India, the extremist BJP regime orchestrates false flag operations to manipulate public opinion and draw sympathy,” Mr Memon asserted, linking the media bans to preelection political maneuvering.

He said that the censorship imposed on Pakistani news channels and digital platforms reflected India’s growing intolerance toward dissent and truth. “Blocking Pakistani media is further proof of the fascist mindset of the Indian government,” he remarked.

The minister added that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government cannot mask its ongoing human rights violations and atrocities in Kashmir through such restrictions. “India has once again shown its fear of truth and its readiness to go to any lengths to conceal its brutal actions against unarmed Kashmiris,” he observed.

Reiterating support for Kashmiris, Mr Memon declared that no amount of censorship could deter their struggle for freedom. “This movement will continue with unwavering determination,” he concluded.
