Top officials have resolved to implement a sweeping, foolproof security plan across the federal capital, reinforcing a zero-tolerance policy against all criminal activities following a high-level meeting on Wednesday. The move aims to significantly enhance the law-and-order situation and ensure the protection of residents.
The crucial session, held at the Capital Development Authority (CDA) Headquarters, was chaired by CDA Chairman and Chief Commissioner Islamabad, Muhammad Ali Randhawa. The gathering included Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, along with senior officers from the Islamabad Police, CDA, and the ICT Administration.
During the briefing, it was revealed that the Islamabad Safe City system has been modernized with advanced technology. This upgrade facilitates comprehensive surveillance of all major roads, markets, and sectors, with trained personnel managing the Command and Control Center around the clock to ensure rapid response to any incidents.
Specific directives were issued to bolster monitoring through CCTV cameras at all city entry and exit points. Furthermore, police patrolling and snap checking will be increased, particularly in sensitive areas, to proactively deter criminal elements and improve public safety.
Chairman Randhawa commended the ongoing efforts of the Islamabad Police and the district administration in maintaining peace. He stressed that safeguarding the lives, property, and dignity of the capital’s citizens is the foremost priority, instructing officials to spare no effort in fulfilling this fundamental duty.
The meeting was informed that routine life in the city remains undisrupted, with all main roads and highways open to traffic and business activities proceeding as normal.
Officials reiterated the government’s commitment to creating a secure environment. Through improved inter-agency coordination and the newly approved measures, the administration aims to fortify Islamabad’s overall security framework, guaranteeing the safety and security of everyone in the federal capital.
