Collectorate of Customs Enforcement, Peshawar successfully foils attempt to smuggle foreign cigarettes

In a significant achievement against the illegal trade, the Collectorate of Customs Enforcement, Peshawar, on Tuesday successfully foiled several attempts to smuggle foreign cigarettes.

Over the initial three months of the fiscal year 2025-26, the customs teams intercepted and seized an impressive 18,275,100 sticks of contraband cigarettes, with an estimated market value of Rs. 154.90 million. This marks a substantial escalation from the 14,114,400 sticks, valued at Rs. 97.04 million, confiscated during the corresponding period the previous year, indicating a 60% surge in value.

This decisive operation underscores Pakistan Customs” unwavering dedication to combating smuggling activities, bolstering legitimate commerce, and ensuring the protection of national revenue.
