Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) incarcerated Vice Chairman Shah Mahmood Qureshi underwent a successful gallbladder surgery at a hospital on Tuesday morning, according to an official statement by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Twitter.
, The senior political leader is recovering after the completion of the surgical procedure and is now under the special care of his treating doctors.
In its announcement, the PTI requested the nation to pray for Qureshi’s “speedy and full recovery.” The party praised him for facing the “hardships of imprisonment with unparalleled courage” and his continued strong support for the party’s founder, Imran Khan.
The statement described Qureshi as “innocently imprisoned for the last two and a half years,” and called his sacrifices a “beacon of light” for the organization.
Expressing pride in the “bravery of the prisoners of conscience,” the party also prayed for their early release from custody.
The announcement concluded with a prayer that Allah grant the best of health and freedom to Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi and all individuals whom the party considers political prisoners.
