The 27th Amendment has disappointed Pakistan’s oppressed classes: Pasban

Pasban Democratic Party Karachi President Abdul Hakim Qaid has said that the 27th Constitutional Amendment has disappointed the deprived classes of Pakistan, in a statement issued today by the Pasban Democratic Party Karachi. Party President Abdul Hakim Qaid, district leaders Qayyum Shaiban, Umair Siddiqui, Sajawal Khan Marwat, and Imdad Baloch expressed their disappointment over the amendment’s failure to address key issues.

The amendment had raised hopes for major reforms, such as the formation of new provinces or the devolution of powers to local governments. However, the leaders stated that the amendment failed to meet these expectations. They emphasized that provincial resources should be available to all citizens, not controlled by a few. The proper distribution and allocation of these resources are necessary for fair development.

The party leaders stressed the need to establish smaller administrative units to ensure the delivery of basic facilities. They noted that the unequal distribution of resources has hindered the nation’s progress, leading to a proliferation of low-wage jobs, such as security positions and delivery roles, over the past two decades. This trend has impacted the standard of living for many citizens.

There is a growing sense of disillusionment with the democratic process, as the public does not feel connected to the benefits they are supposed to receive. The leaders stressed that employment is a fundamental right and that access to basic services like utilities, healthcare, and transportation must be guaranteed for all. The current situation leaves little hope for future generations, highlighting the need for urgent and meaningful reforms.
