15n Apprehended in Major Capital City Crackdown on Narcotics and Arms

Authorities in the federal capital today apprehended 15 individuals into custody, including five wanted fugitives, following a series of operations that also resulted in the seizure of a significant quantity of narcotics and a cache of illegal firearms.

?The detentions are part of an ongoing city-wide security sweep initiated under special directives from Inspector General of Police (IGP) Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, aimed at combating criminal elements and enhancing public safety.

In separate actions, police units from the Secretariat, Margalla, Ramna, Golra, Noon, Khanna, Koral, and Sihala stations apprehended 10 suspects. During these arrests, law enforcement recovered 1,340 grams of hashish, an unspecified quantity of crystal methamphetamine (ice), seven handguns of various calibers, and one rifle with associated ammunition.

Formal cases have been filed against the detained individuals, and further investigations into their alleged activities are currently in progress.

A parallel campaign targeting proclaimed offenders and court absconders led to the capture of an additional five wanted persons.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Operations, Qazi Ali Raza, affirmed the commitment of Islamabad”s law enforcement to safeguarding the lives and property of residents. He asserted that disruptions to the city”s peace would not be tolerated and that citizen protection remains the force”s paramount objective.

The SSP urged the public to contribute to making the capital crime-free by reporting any suspicious individuals or activities to their local police station or the “Pucar-15” emergency helpline, emphasizing the importance of mutual cooperation between citizens and the police.
