In a significant move to expedite justice, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Investigations, Muhammad Usman Tariq Butt, today issued stern directives to ensure the arrest of absconding criminals and proclaimed offenders, emphasizing a zero-tolerance policy towards negligence in protecting citizens.
The instructions were delivered during a high-level meeting convened by the SSP to evaluate the progress of serious crime cases currently under investigation. The session was attended by all District Superintendents of Police (DSPs) from the investigations wing across the district.
During the comprehensive review, SSP Butt mandated that all pending cases be concluded strictly on merit. He instructed the attending officers to submit challans to the appropriate courts, reinforced with solid evidence, to secure the highest possible number of convictions against the culprits.
A key focus of the directive was the apprehension of fugitive members of criminal organizations. The SSP underscored the necessity of carrying out maximum arrests to ensure their capture and bring them to justice.
Reaffirming the department”s primary responsibility, he stated, “The protection of citizens’ life and property is our top priority.” He concluded with a stark warning that any lapse in this duty would not be tolerated.
