Authorities today intensified security protocols throughout the city and initiated a widespread crackdown on traffic violations as part of comprehensive arrangements for Muharram Ul Haram, according to the Islamabad Capital Police. The measures include enhanced surveillance at all entry and exit points and increased patrols to prevent any untoward incidents.
Following directives from Inspector General of Police (IGP) Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, a flag march was conducted with the purpose of maintaining public order and demonstrating a commitment to effective security. The procession was carried out under the supervision of SP City Suleman Zafar.
Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Islamabad, Muhammad Jawad Tariq, emphasized that the police force is taking all possible steps to preserve tranquility in the city, adding that personnel are on alert to tackle any potential disturbances.
Security has been bolstered at all city entrances and exits, while the Dolphin squad is actively patrolling various areas. All senior police officers have been directed to remain within their assigned jurisdictions to personally check and verify security at duty points.
The DIG further detailed that an enforcement campaign is underway targeting one-wheeling, vehicles with tinted glass, pillion riding, and automobiles or motorcycles operating without proper number plates.
He also urged citizens to cooperate with law enforcement during the checking process and to report any suspicious activity by calling the Pucar-15 emergency helpline, stating that no effort would be spared to secure the lives and property of residents.
