The nation is bracing for a period of intense heat and humidity, which will affect most areas. However, areas like Kashmir, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, northeastern Punjab, eastern Balochistan, and Gilgit-Baltistan are expected to experience relief in the form of strong winds and thunderstorms.
According to the forecast made by the Meteorological Department today, weather patterns indicate that these areas may experience rain, which will generally provide relief in severe conditions.
This morning, temperatures in major cities highlighted the current heat. The mercury in Islamabad and Peshawar reached 28 degrees Celsius, while in Lahore and Karachi, it was recorded even higher at 30 degrees Celsius. In Quetta, the temperature remained slightly lower at 26 degrees Celsius.
The temperature in Gilgit remained at 23 degrees Celsius, presenting a stark contrast to the cool breezes of Murree, where a refreshing 18 degrees Celsius was recorded. Meanwhile, in Muzaffarabad, the temperature hovered around 27 degrees Celsius.
