A 7-day national anti-polio campaign has also started in Sukkur Division, which was inaugurated by the Commissioner at the Social Security Hospital.
Sukkur Commissioner Abid Saleem Qureshi personally visited the low-performing Union Councils (UCs) of Jinnah Chowk and Clock Tower on Monday and issued special instructions to the campaign heads to ensure comprehensive coverage.
This public health campaign, which will continue until December 21, aims to administer two drops of polio vaccine to every child under the age of five.
Earlier in the day, the Commissioner launched the campaign by attending a morning training session at the Social Security Hospital, where he addressed the vaccinators and their supervisors.
Qureshi instructed the field teams to “make the door-to-door campaign a success by following the micro-plan,” stressing that the role of all vaccinators and supervisors is crucial for the campaign’s success.
The administrative head of the division also appealed to the public, urging parents and guardians to cooperate with health workers and ensure their children receive this vital vaccine.
