Pakistan Railways has razed multiple illegal shops and constructions in a decisive anti-encroachment drive near Usman Khattar Railway Station, successfully reclaiming a significant plot of high-value land estimated to be worth millions of rupees.
The operation, conducted on Tuesday along the Taxila-Havelian section, resulted in the retrieval of 56.62 marlas of state-owned real estate. The initiative was carried out under the close supervision of the Pakistan Railways Property and Land Branch.
This action was initiated following special directives from Federal Minister for Railways Muhammad Hanif Abbasi. Officials stated the move underscores the organization’s firm commitment to protecting its assets and ensuring the proper use of government property.
The federal minister has reiterated that unlawful occupation of railway territory will not be tolerated under any circumstances. In line with this, Pakistan Railways affirmed its zero-tolerance policy against encroachments will be strictly enforced going forward.
The department has planned similar actions against land grabbers and encroachment mafias throughout the Rawalpindi Division and other regions to safeguard national assets.
Pakistan Railways also issued an appeal to the public, urging citizens to cooperate in the protection of government property. The department encouraged people to report any illicit activities concerning railway land to help maintain transparency and preserve public resources.
