President Asif Ali Zardari today articulated Pakistan’s desire to enhance collaboration with Bhutan across several key sectors, aiming to foster regional peace and prosperity, in a message marking the Himalayan kingdom”s National Day on Wednesday.
In his communication, the president extended warm felicitations to the government and populace of Bhutan on their national observance.
Zardari noted that the day commemorates the historic coronation of Gongsar Ugyen Wangchuck, an event that established the foundations of a unified and modern Bhutan under the Wangchuck monarchy.
The head of state also emphasized that the occasion serves to honour the significant contributions of Bhutan”s successive monarchs in safeguarding national sovereignty and nurturing the country”s unique cultural identity.
He affirmed that Pakistan looks forward to working with Bhutan to strengthen cooperation in education, culture, and tourism, as well as to increase people-to-people exchanges for the benefit of the region.
