In a highlevel review of the federal capital’s security apparatus, senior police officials have been directed to remain fully prepared to counter any potential threats ahead of Christmas, with an emphasis on reinforcing security at sensitive locations.
According to Islamabad Capital Police information today, the directive was issued by Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Islamabad, Muhammad Jawad Tariq, during a significant session convened to finalize foolproof security arrangements for the festive period.
Attending the review were SSP Investigation Muhammad Usman Tariq Butt, SSP Operations Qazi Ali Raza, and other senior officers. The meeting”s agenda included an assessment of ongoing operations against criminal elements and the overall law and order situation in the city.
Special security plans for Christmas and associated religious activities were a primary focus of the discussion.
The DIG instructed the force to utilize all available resources to safeguard the lives and property of citizens, while actively promoting religious harmony.
Officers were ordered to immediately strengthen police patrolling throughout the capital and to maintain a state of readiness to respond effectively and in a timely manner to any untoward incident.
Emphasising the need for constant vigilance, DIG Tariq stated that the Islamabad Police would remain proactive in its efforts to maintain peace and provide a secure environment for all communities.
He reaffirmed the commitment of the capital”s police force to protect the public and uphold interfaith accord across the city.
