To fill a critical gap in public health and last rites services in the city, Mayor Karachi Barrister Murtaza Wahab on Sunday inaugurated and visited a new dispensary and a morgue, along with other community facilities.
The new projects were unveiled during a visit to Shireen Jinnah Colony, which also included several parks and community centers.
According to Mayor Wahab, these initiatives are a “significant milestone” in enhancing the provision of health, recreational, and social facilities for residents.
He said the new parks and community centers are intended to serve as hubs for constructive activities for the city’s youth, families, and senior citizens.
The Mayor highlighted that the establishment of the new dispensary is aimed at providing basic medical services directly to the public, improving access to healthcare at the local level.
Regarding the improved morgue facilities, the Mayor stated that their purpose is to provide citizens with “dignity and convenience in difficult times.”
Concluding his remarks, Barrister Wahab emphasized his administration’s focus on tangible results, stating, “We believe not just in ceremonial plaques, but in practical projects for the betterment of Karachi.”
