Pakistan achieved a landmark in its energy policy during the last fiscal year, with renewable sources accounting for 53 percent of the nation”s total electricity generation.
According to a report today, this development comes as investment prospects within the country”s energy sector are broadening, a trend attributed to the backing of the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC).
The nation has rapidly positioned itself as a significant participant in the global solar market. Official figures indicate the country has reached an off-grid solar capacity of 12 gigawatts.
Furthermore, a substantial increase of more than six gigawatts has been registered in net-metered solar capacity, underscoring considerable progress towards national renewable energy objectives.
