The ongoing protest for the restoration of basic health facilities in Taluka Nasirabad has entered its 83rd day, with protesters condemning the continued silence of elected representatives and health department officials on the dilapidated condition of the local hospital.
The campaign, organized by the Sujag Shehri Ittehad, culminated in a protest march and sit-in on Thursday in the village of Jamil Ahmed Tunio in Union Council Dhamrah.
Led by the alliance’s representatives Sufi Ghaffar Chani, Comrade Asif Kathia, and Ikhtiar Ganwas, the protesters expressed disappointment that no action has been taken on their prolonged protest.
The leaders said that despite the community’s continuous pleas for 83 days, the constituency’s elected representatives, DHO Qambar, and the health department remain “silent spectators.”
They demanded that higher authorities and the Sindh government take immediate notice of the situation. The demands include completing the remaining construction of the Taluka Hospital and addressing the severe shortage of doctors and medicines at the Rural Health Center.
The organizers made it clear that their movement will continue indefinitely until the Taluka Hospital is fully restored and functional for the public.
