Amid a complex regional environment, lawmakers from Pakistan and the United States convened in Washington to enhance legislative dialogue, focusing on critical issues of strategic stability and economic cooperation between the two nations.
According to a report on Friday, Senator Saleem Mandviwalla represented Pakistan in a series of parliamentary engagements designed to strengthen high-level interaction. A pivotal congressional session took place on January 22, 2026, at the Rayburn House Office Building.
The event, organised by the Pakistan Policy Institute USA (PPI-USA) and supported by Congressman Al Green, facilitated discussions between the Pakistani delegation and prominent U.S. legislators, including Congressman Green of Texas, Congressman Ron Estes of Kansas, and Congressman Tom Suozzi.
In his keynote remarks, Congressman Estes, along with other participants, expressed a desire for sustained engagement with Pakistan through established parliamentary and institutional channels.
The dialogue centred on improving legislative communication, promoting economic engagement, and formally recognising the contribution of the Pakistani-American diaspora as a constructive element in bilateral relations.
