The PIB Colony police, in a crackdown against individuals involved in street crime on Wednesday, have apprehended a person with a record of serious offenses, including robbery and violence.
An East Police spokesperson confirmed that the suspect, identified as Wasim son of Omar, was arrested from the Press Quarters area.
During the arrest, law enforcement personnel recovered and seized an illegal pistol along with ammunition from the suspect’s possession.
Consequently, a new case has been registered against Wasim under the Sindh Arms Act for possession of an illegal weapon.
An official statement revealed that the arrested individual is a habitual offender who has been previously arrested and jailed. His criminal record includes a prior charge of robbery (FIR No. 139/2023) and another of attempted murder and assault (FIR No. 421/2024).
Furthermore, the suspect was also charged under the same arms act in 2023 (FIR No. 138/2023). All three previous cases are registered at the PIB Colony Police Station.
Authorities have stated that a more comprehensive investigation into the matter is underway.
