Senior police commanders on Sunday commenced on-site inspections of security arrangements at various churches and key duty points across the federal capital, implementing special directives issued by the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, to bolster public safety.
According to a report by the Capital Police, zonal Superintendents of Police (SPs) during their visits met with deployed officers and officials to review existing security protocols. They emphasised that screening and checking procedures must be made more effective and purposeful to safeguard the lives and property of residents.
Officers assigned to security details were instructed to maintain a state of high alert at all times. The directives included carrying out diligent checks of suspicious individuals and vehicles and ensuring any concerning activity is immediately communicated to the relevant authorities.
The SPs also highlighted the importance of courteous and respectful interaction with the public, stressing that such conduct is essential for strengthening the bond of trust between the community and law enforcement.
Officials reiterated that the protection of the public remains the foremost priority for the Islamabad Police and that all current measures are aligned with this objective.
The police have also urged citizens to play an active role in maintaining security by fully cooperating with personnel and reporting any suspicious individual or activity to the nearest police station or the “Pucar-15” helpline without delay.
