Sindh government is responsible for deaths from firing in Karachi protest: National People’s Party

People’s Party chief Murtaza Jatoi has held the Sindh government responsible for the recent deaths during a protest in Karachi, calling the fatalities a failure of the provincial administration.

The former federal minister made these remarks while speaking to the media after an appearance at an anti-terrorism court in Naushahro Feroze.

Commenting on international affairs today, Murtaza Jatoi condemned the “US-Israeli aggression” against Iran, calling it unjust. He said the conflict’s effects have spread from the Gulf region to Saudi Arabia, with Muslims bearing the resulting losses.

He also spoke on regional security, stressing that Afghanistan should not be allowed to use its territory against Pakistan. Mr. Jatoi affirmed Pakistan’s right to protect its borders, placing the responsibility on Afghanistan as a brotherly Muslim country.

Regarding domestic matters, the party leader reiterated his opposition to the division of provinces. He concluded by expressing support for strengthening the local government system, saying, “No one living in Sindh, including myself, wants the division of Sindh.”
