Inspector General of Police (IGP) Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi today directed law enforcement personnel to maintain a heightened state of alertness during Ramadan, following a comprehensive review of security arrangements for Taraweeh and Fajr prayers across the federal capital.
During a tour of various city sectors, the IGP personally inspected the deployment and security protocols of officers stationed at places of worship and other sensitive locations.
He met with the on-duty personnel, commending their performance and reinforcing the importance of their role in maintaining law and order.
Mr Rizvi issued firm instructions for all officers to execute their duties with enhanced vigilance, professionalism, and a sense of responsibility, emphasising that the protection of public life and property must be ensured at all costs.
The police chief affirmed that comprehensive security measures, utilising all available resources, have been implemented to create a safe environment for residents, particularly for the large congregations expected during Taraweeh prayers throughout the holy month.
In a separate initiative focused on public engagement, IGP Rizvi held an open court at the Central Police Office as part of an open-door policy, where he directly listened to the grievances of both citizens and police officers.
“My doors are always open for the citizens,” the IGP stated, inviting anyone with a police-related problem to attend the forum.
Stressing that the prompt, merit-based resolution of public complaints is a primary directive, the IGP issued on-the-spot instructions to relevant officials. He mandated that all applications be addressed within a specified timeframe, with a compliance report to be submitted to the Central Police Office.
The IGP reiterated that the twin objectives of protecting the lives and property of citizens and resolving their issues remain the foremost priorities of the Islamabad Police.
