One of 2 individuals who drowned in Karachi’s Manghopir Mai Gadi canal rescued

The body of one of two youths who went into the Manghopir Mai Gadi canal at night was found, while his companion was safely rescued.

The Edhi Marine Services team launched a comprehensive search and rescue mission during the night which concluded this morning, resulting in one person being rescued alive from the waterway.

An extensive search operation for the second individual involved in the incident continued, which concluded upon the discovery of his body. Later, an Edhi ambulance transferred the deceased to a nearby police station.

Authorities have identified the survivor as 20-year-old Hasnain son of Subhan.

The deceased has been identified as 19-year-old Muhammad Ashar son of Muhammad Saleem.
