Pakistan’s Information and Communication Technology (ICT) sector has recorded a substantial 19.7% increase in export remittances during the first eight months of the fiscal year 2025-26, reaching US$2.97 billion.
According to data released today by the Ministry of Information and Technology, this is a significant rise from the US$2.48 billion achieved during the same period last fiscal year, highlighting the robust expansion of the country’s technology services in the global market.
The figures for February 2026 also indicate sustained momentum, with export earnings for that month alone standing at $365 million, a 19.3% increase compared to the same month last year.
A key feature of this performance is the commendable trade surplus of $2.55 billion achieved by the industry. This surplus represents approximately 86% of the total ICT export earnings.
The Ministry of Information and Technology, acknowledging this achievement, has declared the ICT sector as the best-performing service sector within Pakistan’s economy due to its remarkable financial success.
