KSE-100 Soars by Over 4,200 Points in Bullish Frenzy

Investor wealth surged by over Rs 461 billion on Wednesday as the Pakistan Stock Exchange witnessed a spectacular bull run, with the benchmark KSE-100 index rocketing past the 154,000-point threshold in a single session.

The KSE-100 index recorded a monumental gain of 4,276.09 points, or 2.85 per cent, to close the trading day at 154,292.26. The index fluctuated between an intra-day high of 154,684.45 and a low of 150,284.26, building on the previous day”s close of 150,016.16.

Following suit, the KSE-30 index also registered a significant advance, climbing 1,418.41 points. The 3.12 per cent rally brought its closing figure to 46,904.87, after touching a high of 47,034.39 during the session.

The bullish sentiment was underpinned by a substantial increase in market participation. Turnover in the regular market swelled to 397.47 million shares, a considerable rise from the 260.43 million shares traded on the preceding day.

Correspondingly, the traded value experienced a robust increase, reaching Rs 22.35 billion compared to the previous session’s Rs 17.21 billion, according to data released by the exchange.

The day”s powerful rally translated into a massive expansion of the bourse”s overall value. Total market capitalisation climbed to Rs 17.25 trillion from the previous day”s figure of Rs 16.79 trillion.
