The US dollar surpassed the significant 280 threshold in the interbank market on Saturday, while the British pound and the euro also registered elevated values, according to data released by the Exchange Companies Association of Pakistan.
The American currency concluded the day”s trading with a buying rate of 279.40 and a selling rate of 280.23.
Meanwhile, key European legal tender demonstrated considerable strength. The euro was valued between 320.59 and 324.20, and the pound sterling was quoted in the range of 369.75 to 373.75.
The report also detailed the exchange rates for other international monetary units. The Japanese yen was priced between 1.72 and 1.78.
Currencies from the Middle East also featured in the day”s trading figures. The UAE dirham was noted at 75.99 for buying and 76.71 for selling, while the Saudi riyal was similarly priced with rates of 74.26 and 74.88, respectively.
