Balochistan Traders Demand Immediate End to Lockdown, Cite Financial Ruin

Niaz Muhammad Kakar, President of the All Balochistan Communication Association (ABCA), today vehemently condemned the ongoing lockdown measures, characterising them as the “economic killing” of the province’s business community and urging authorities to lift the restrictions.

Speaking to media outlets, including PPI, following an Executive Committee meeting of the ABCA, Mr Kakar highlighted the dual burden faced by shopkeepers. He noted that businesses are simultaneously liable for shop rents and government taxes, making the current shutdown financially unsustainable for enterprises across Balochistan.

Mr Kakar further asserted that the Markazi Anjuman Tajiran Balochistan does not genuinely represent the province”s traders. He critically stated that any individual engaging in negotiations on behalf of the commercial sector is merely a “courtier and sycophant” of the Balochistan Chief Minister and Deputy Commissioner.
