Ahmed Khan Abro, a former official of the Public Health Engineering Department in Khairpur, was taken into custody today by anti-corruption authorities after evading arrest for several years in connection with various corruption charges.
The arrest was made following directions from the Special Judge Anti-Corruption Sukkur. Law enforcement agencies from Sukkur and Khairpur conducted a raid, resulting in the apprehension of the former public sector engineer.
Mr. Abro subsequently appeared before the Anti-Corruption Court in Sukkur, where he was formally remanded into judicial custody.
Anti-corruption officials confirmed that First Information Reports (FIRs) related to financial irregularities were filed against the accused in 2015 and 2016. He had been considered a fugitive since then.
