High Commissioner Muhammad Saleem today officially opened the Sadeqain Art Exhibition in Massey Saga, Canada.The event marks a significant celebration of the lasting impact of Syed Sadequain Ahmed Naqvi (1930-1987), revered as one of Pakistan”s most prominent artistic visionaries.
The showcase, organised by the Sadequain Foundation in collaboration with local partners and media, aims to highlight the deep symbolism, cultural significance, and artistic range within the artist”s invaluable body of work.
Over its three-day duration, the display is anticipated to attract a wide array of attendees, including art and calligraphy enthusiasts, journalists, representatives from civil society, and students from the Aga Khan Foundation Academy Toronto, among other educational establishments.
Through this engaging presentation, attendees are provided a unique opportunity to interact with Sadequain”s remarkable artistic output, which encompasses Islamic calligraphy, diverse paintings, drawings, murals, and Urdu poetry. The exhibition also encourages contemplation of Pakistan”s substantial contributions to the global arts and cultural landscape.
Further enriching the programme, the distinguished Pakistani academic and poet, Ashfaq Hussain, is scheduled to deliver insightful perspectives on Sadequain”s extensive heritage, examining his notable input across visual arts, poetic works, and scholarly pursuits.
