Two suspects arrested after a recent police encounter in Awami Colony have been identified as habitual criminals with extensive criminal records, including dozens of robbery incidents and serious charges like terrorism.
Investigations reveal that the arrested individuals are involved in numerous cases of armed robbery across the city. Their criminal activities highlight a pattern of continuous criminal offending.
One such incident occurred on April 7, when the alleged culprits robbed Ahmed Khan Chandio near Bilal Colony. Police stated that Chandio was returning home after withdrawing 300,000 rupees from the bank. The culprits snatched the cash at gunpoint and later shot and injured the citizen.
Accused Moiz’s past criminal record includes participation in police encounters, attempted murder, theft, illegal possession of weapons, and violations under the Anti-Terrorism Act. Similarly, co-accused Waqar faces charges of police encounter, attempted murder, armed robbery, illegal possession of weapons, and terrorism.
The past criminal records of the injured accused Rasheed and Anas have also been obtained by authorities. Law enforcement agencies are continuing detailed investigations of the arrested individuals.
