In a significant move against urban crime, Pakistan Rangers (Sindh) have successfully dismantled the “Lalu Gang,” a notorious group involved in numerous robberies and street crimes in Karachi. This operation was based on confidential information and took place in the busy area of Baldia Town, where four key individuals were arrested.
The arrested individuals include Lal Muhammad, also known as Lalu and the gang leader, along with Muhammad Shafiq, Ajmal Kakad, and Sanaullah. During the raid, authorities seized an unlicensed 9mm pistol, ammunition, and two mobile phones.
The gang was notorious for being involved in various criminal activities in different areas, including Orangi Town, Gulshan Ghazi, and Saeedabad. Their criminal activities included the theft of 2 to 3 motorcycles, the snatching of 40 to 50 mobile phones, and acquiring approximately 1 million rupees.
Recently, a daring robbery by the gang at a hotel in Baldia Town was captured on CCTV footage, further confirming their criminal activities. The arrested suspects are not first-time offenders; they are chronic lawbreakers with multiple FIRs registered against them in different police stations in Karachi.
After their arrest, the suspects were handed over to local police authorities for further legal action, along with the seized weapons and stolen items.
Sindh Rangers have appealed to the public to immediately report any criminal elements to the nearest Rangers check post or through their helpline and WhatsApp number, assuring that the identity of the informant will be kept confidential. This initiative is a significant step towards enhancing community safety and crime prevention in the area.
