The eighteenth death anniversary of the famous poet and creator of the Pakistan Movement anthem, Professor Asghar Sodai, who created the renowned anthem of the Pakistan Movement “What is the meaning of Pakistan, There is no god but Allah” was observed today.
Professor Sodai, born on 17 September 1926 in Sialkot, played a significant role in the Pakistan Movement through his memorable words that embodied the spirit of the struggle. His educational journey took him from Murray College, Sialkot to Islamia College, Lahore, where he later served as a lecturer at Islamia College, Sialkot.
Commemorating his passing on this day in 2008, his legacy continues to resonate in the cultural and historical narrative of Pakistan. His contributions as a poet and educator have left a profound impact on the nation’s history and identity.
