Sindhi and Urdu Poetry Session Held in Sakrand on Anwar Anjum Naqvi’s Retirement

On the retirement of Officers Federation of Pakistan’s Secretary Anwar Anjum Naqvi, a Sindhi and Urdu poetry session was held in Sakrand today.

Poets, writers, journalists, and notable citizens participated in the event. Hosted by Muhammad Shabbir Rajput and Azam Rawal, the event was a celebration of Sindh’s heritage, where poets praised its land, culture, and traditions.

Renowned poet and historian Manik Mallah criticized the feudal takeover of politics, comparing it to literature, which is a sanctuary for the deprived. He highlighted the growing reliance on privileges in journalism but praised the writers for their honesty regarding Sindh’s troubles.

Poet Jahangir Dehri said that Sindh is a symbol of love and harmony, where there is no place for enmity. Babu Hussain Hamdam received notable praise for his heartfelt poetry.

Kanwar Rasheed Mukarram, in a passionate critique, condemned the construction of canals on the Indus River, saying that the river and Sindh are symbols of life and should be protected from harmful actions.

Journalist Ghulam Qadir Chandio prayed for Sindh’s prosperity, advocated for the end of enmity, and freedom from oppressive rulers.

Amjad Khanzada of Pakistan Muslim League-N was praised for his revolutionary poetry, while Shabbir Ahmed Rajput, head of Prime Media House, acknowledged the courage of Sindh’s poets in voicing public issues through their art.

Pritam Qazi highlighted the trials facing Sindh, and Rao Shaukat Mustafa poetically described resilience in the face of hardships as a symbol of Husain. Noor Kiryoo expressed hope for Sindh’s enduring spirit.

Other poets like Sanwal Kiryoo, Shiraz Ahmed Sham Sarhrovi, and Fayaz Ahmed also presented their creations, paying tribute to Sindh through their poetic expressions.

Syed Anwar Hussain Anjum Naqvi mesmerized the audience with his poetry, and traditional Sindhi ajrak gifts were distributed to the guests, giving cultural significance to the occasion.

Concluding in a warm and literary atmosphere, the event emphasized the need for more such cultural events to strengthen and preserve Sindh’s heritage.

The attendees included Press Club President Ghulam Haider Solangi, former President Raza Muhammad Siyal, and other prominent figures, making this event an important cultural gathering.
