Meeting of the delegation of chambers of commerce across the country with the Prime Minister

Today’s meeting of Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif with a delegation of leading figures from Pakistan’s chambers of commerce and industry highlights the government’s commitment to stabilizing the economy and promoting peace in the Gulf region. The participants praised the Prime Minister, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar, and Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defense Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir for their significant roles in these efforts.

The meeting also appreciated the launch of the loan scheme under the “Prime Minister Apna Ghar Program,” designed to provide affordable loans to citizens of the lower and middle classes. This initiative aims to reduce the financial burden and encourage home ownership among these classes.

In support of economic formalization, business leaders expressed readiness to collaborate with the Government of Pakistan to transition the gray economy into a formal economic structure. This move is expected to enhance transparency and increase fiscal revenue.

Prime Minister Sharif emphasized that despite recent policies, the interest rate under the Export Refinance Scheme will be maintained at 4.5% until June 2027. He assured that the economy has been stabilized through relentless efforts and a continuous commitment to rapid economic growth will be ensured.

Furthermore, to meet the needs of overseas Pakistanis and the local business community, the Prime Minister announced the establishment of a passport office in Gujarat, which will facilitate better access to essential services.
