President, Prime Minister emphasize joint efforts for the formation of a safe, balanced food system

On the occasion of World Food Safety Day, President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, in their messages today, appealed to all concerned to play a role in the development of a safe, strong, and equitable food system.

The leaders highlighted the significant role of individuals associated with agriculture and food industries in ensuring food security. President Zardari emphasized the need for the use of science, data, and evidence-based strategies to reduce foodborne diseases and improve food standards.

Endorsing these views, Prime Minister Sharif said that tackling health issues arising from unhealthy food and malnutrition is a collective responsibility, stressing the need for joint efforts to face these challenges.

Both leaders emphasized the importance of collaborative initiatives to ensure the provision of healthy and safe food, which has wide-ranging impacts on public health and social welfare.
