The Governor of Sindh inaugurated the 1296th annual Urs of Hazrat Abdullah Shah Ghazi.

The 1296th annual Urs of Hazrat Abdullah Shah Ghazi commenced today with a formal inauguration by the Governor of Sindh, Syed Muhammad Nihal Hashmi. During the Governor’s visit to the shrine in Clifton, Karachi, prayers were offered, a ceremonial sheet was laid, and special prayers for the country’s development, public welfare, and national unity were held.

The opening ceremony was attended by the Secretary Auqaf, relevant officials, Urs organizers, devotees, and distinguished personalities. Governor Hashmi received a warm welcome and was briefed on the arrangements and security measures made for the event.

During his visit, the Governor interacted with the devotees, inquired about their well-being, and termed their participation as a testament to their devotion. He inspected the event’s organization, including facilities, cleanliness, and security, and appreciated the efforts of the responsible institutions.

As a goodwill gesture, Governor Hashmi, along with the Secretary Auqaf, distributed clothes among the deserving. Speaking to the media, he highlighted the support of society’s vulnerable segments as a collective and religious responsibility and stated that such events promote the spirit of service and human welfare.

The Governor also reflected on the teachings of Hazrat Abdullah Shah Ghazi, which preach love, tolerance, and brotherhood, emphasizing the historical role of saints in promoting social peace and unity. He appealed to incorporate these teachings into daily life to foster social harmony and positive values.

The ceremony concluded with prayers for the country’s security, development, and the unity of the global Muslim community.
