Significant progress in industrial recovery and the productive sector in Pakistan through effective facilitation by SIFC

Over the past three years, the Government of Pakistan, with the help of the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC), has achieved significant successes in overcoming obstacles to the recovery of the industrial sector.

It was officially reported today that the establishment of the National Industrial Revival Commission has played a key role in reactivating dormant industrial units, increasing production capacity. Meanwhile, efforts to reform tariffs and improve access to essential raw materials and machinery are ongoing, which are crucial to facilitating business processes and promoting industrial development.

In a significant development, the first unit of potassium sulfate fertilizer has started operations in the Gwadar North Free Zone, with export permission already obtained. This indicates a major development in the industrial landscape of the region.

Furthermore, SIFC has also facilitated the revival of the Saudi investment-based National Steel Complex, which had been stalled for a long time. This achievement highlights the council’s key role in overcoming integrated regulatory barriers.

In addition, the council’s efforts have led to the approval of seven new cement plants, further promoting growth in the construction sector.

These measures reflect a broad strategy to strengthen Pakistan’s industrial capabilities, preparing the country for sustained economic growth and development.
