Promising to expand energy networks in the Sindh province, gas production has commenced from newly discovered wells in Daharki and Khairpur.
Mari Energies announced today that gas from the discovery of Shams-1 in Daharki has now been integrated into the Sui Northern Network. This integration adds an additional 30 million cubic feet of gas daily to the system, with Mari Development and Production Lease overseeing operations as the sole stakeholder in the area.
Meanwhile, Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) has commenced extraction of gas from the Sehatu-1 well in the Khairpur district. Production from this well is adding 6 million cubic feet of gas daily to the Sui Southern Network. A 5-kilometer pipeline has been constructed to facilitate the connection from the Sanjhoro Processing Plant to the Sui Southern System.
An OGDCL representative mentioned that the current production of Sehatu-1 is expected to increase over time, which will enhance the capacity to meet regional energy needs.
These developments are a significant step in strengthening the energy infrastructure in Sindh, with both projects playing a vital role in the stabilization and growth of Pakistan’s gas supply networks.
