A tragic incident emerged today near Jang Shahi in Usman Jokhio village, where a young man identified as Jamar Jokhio allegedly ended his life by hanging himself from a tree.
Family members immediately took custody of the body upon witnessing the harrowing scene and informed the local law enforcement authorities. Jhang Shahi police promptly responded and, in cooperation with the family, transferred the deceased to Civil Hospital Thatta for a postmortem examination.
According to the statements of Jamar Jokhio’s father, Waheed Dino Jokhio, and other relatives, the deceased was under severe emotional distress. This distress allegedly stemmed from theft allegations against Jamar’s son, who was accused of stealing from the house of police officer Wajid Jokhio.
The family claims that this accusation might have exacerbated Jamar Jokhio’s mental anguish, potentially leading to this tragedy. However, they insist that the definitive cause of death can only be determined after a complete police investigation and postmortem results.
The local community is in shock, coping with the loss, and awaiting further clarification from the authorities. This incident has sparked a debate on the effects of societal pressure and the need for mental health support.
